Piet Eichholtz
Piet EichholtzProfessor, University of Maastricht

Piet Eichholtz is Professor of Finance and Real Estate at Maastricht University, where he has been chair of the Finance Department. His academic work, which is published widely and internationally in academic and practitioner journals, focuses on real estate sustainability and (long-term) real estate investment performance, including housing. His teaching in real estate and finance has won numerous awards. He is one of the initiators of the Global Real Estate Leaders Program.

Besides his academic career, Eichholtz has been active as an entrepreneur, having started five companies, including Global Property Research – the producer of the GPR real estate investment indices, GRESB – the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark, and Finance Ideas – a consultancy focused on non-profit real estate owners. In the latter firm, he is still active as an advisor to pension funds and social housing institutions. He is also on the advisory board of the BPD Core Housing Fund.

Maaike Hof

Maaike Hof is Co-Chief Executive Officer of the Global Real Estate Engagement Network (GREEN). GREEN is a network of institutional investors in real estate which facilitates and promotes, directly or indirectly, the engagement on sustainability topics to mitigate material financial risk and to maximise the long term value of real estate. She is employed by Finance Ideas as a senior advisor to institutional investors. Prior to this she was a board member and investment committee member of a Dutch pension fund and she has over 15 years of experience in real estate portfolio management and sustainability at several pension service providers.
